The Yonex Coffee House is a gathering place for the NYC tennis community, built around the launch of the Ezone Espresso racquet. Located on Mott Street in Nolita, the space invites visitors to enjoy espresso or matcha, browse the latest Yonex apparel and meet their favorite players.

Light ash veneer and clean lines throughout establish a warm, minimal Japanese aesthetic. A material language consistent with the brand’s heritage and the designer’s Scandinavian sensibility. The space is oriented around the large arched street-facing windows: a deep built-in window seat with integrated coffee tables, flanked by a mirrored wall and the hero Ezone Espresso racquet display draws people in from the street. The espresso bar runs immediately in front, functioning as both coffee counter and retail checkout, anchored by a large-scale custom light box. The light box is designed with more negative space than graphics, adding to the minimalist aesthetics of the space.

On the street, custom furniture built from aluminum profile bars and ash veneer seats gives guests a place to sit and people-watch on one of Nolita’s most active blocks. A Yonex-branded dog bowl serves four-legged visitors in the August heat.

Inside, an illuminated product display presents accessories on lit shelves alongside apparel hung from Yonex tennis strings. Custom apparel racks, using aluminum profile and ash veneer, reference the brand’s technical language while keeping the presentation clean. A small design library curated around Japanese design and tennis sits nearby, offering inspirational reads to be enjoyed with the coffee.

At the back, an arena-style seating unit, screen, and player portrait wall form a community space. Each sponsored player appearing in store signs their portrait during the week. Community programming includes an Ikebana workshop, matcha making workshop and chain link embroidery customization of accessories.
